From Paris to the international museum world

And here it gets really interesting.

The Bubu 1er belongs to the design collection of the prestigious Centre Pompidou in Paris.

The museum even owns a 1996 example, produced by XO, in the officially registered color ‘orange clair translucide’. A particularly apt museum reference for the peach-colored variant of this lot.

This edition is recorded under catalog number AM 2007-1-122 and was donated to the museum by XO in 2007.

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has also included the Bubu 1er in its permanent collection.

A fine recognition for a design that long since outgrew its original function.

French design with character and a royal touch

Philippe Starck designed the Bubu 1er in 1991. From 1996 the XO Design version appeared.

The inspiration came from an inverted crown, complete with four characteristic points as legs.

The result is a sculptural piece of furniture with a wink. A small design with a striking personality.

And as you would expect from Starck, the Bubu does not confine itself to one function.

Use it as a design stool, side table, nightstand, or storage piece thanks to the removable lid. With a suitable inner pot it even serves as a striking plant holder.
