Zeiss Ikon, Model Babybox A8, physical condition good and not tested functionally, film format 127, dating from circa 1930–1940.
Description from the seller
Rare Zeiss Ikon Baby Box Tengor (Model 54/18E) – With adjustable Novar-Anastigmat 1:6.3 f=5cm lens from the early 1930s.
Beautiful and rarer version of the Zeiss Ikon Baby Box Tengor (model 54/18E) from the early 1930s.
Where the standard Baby Box models are usually equipped with a simple Goerz Frontar lens with fixed focus, this particular model is the more luxurious and highly sought-after variant. It features a high-quality Novar-Anastigmat lens and gives the photographer full manual control with settings for both distance (focus) and aperture. The iconic hexagonal front plate and the compact Art Deco look make this an absolute showpiece in any display case.
The camera is in neat cosmetic condition with the inevitable, yet charming, signs of aging and use that suit an instrument nearly a century old (see the detailed photos for an accurate personal impression). The finder is present, the advance knob turns smoothly, and the shutter levers move properly. The camera has not been tested.
Technical specifications:
• Brand: Zeiss Ikon (Germany)
• Model: Baby Box Tengor (Model 54/18E)
• Production period: About 1931 – 1938

A beautiful, characterful miniature box camera that deserves a prominent place in a serious (Zeiss) collection!
