It bears the coveted East German quality mark “Q1” for first-class export quality. Unlike modern plastic binoculars, this model stands out for its extremely durable, classic materials:
Gehäuse: sturdy, lightweight aluminium die-cast with a grippy black Bakelite/leatherette trim.
Optik: high-quality, ground optical glass from Jena with the characteristic blue-violet magnesium fluoride coating for clear, reflection-reducing viewing.
Details: original eyecups made of distinctive hard Bakelite. Precise brass threads inside the central crank.
