Description from the seller

Title: Floral Still Life

School: Italian Impressionist School (20th Century)

Style: Italian Impressionism

Technique: Oil on canvas

Circle: Work produced within the tradition of Italian floral painting from the early 20th century, with affinities to the circle of Italian impressionist and post-impressionist painters specialized in still life. The composition shows influences of European floral painting from the late 19th century, characterized by loose brushwork, careful chromatic harmony and a special interest in capturing light and the delicacy of the flowers.

Elegant floral still life dated 1915, composed of an exuberant bouquet of roses in pink and burgundy tones combined with white and yellow chrysanthemums, arranged in a dark vase that emerges from a background of green and grayish tones. The composition conveys balance and freshness through a natural distribution of the flowers, while the loose and vibrant brushwork provides movement and luminosity to the whole. The chromatic variety and the treatment of the textures of the petals reflect the sensibility typical of early 20th-century Italian impressionism, giving the scene a refined and decorative atmosphere.

Soft lighting shapes the forms without resorting to strong contrasts, allowing the protagonism to fall on the rich color of the bouquet and the natural arrangement of the flowers. The signature and date visible in the lower right corner contribute to contextualizing the work within the artistic production of the period.

The work is presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame with an aged finish. Decorated with relief vegetal motifs and smooth interior moldings, it complements harmoniously the classic and elegant character of the still life, enhancing its presence without detracting from the pictorial composition.

Observations:

The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damage to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.

Exceptional cases, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excess dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge.

Due to problems at the Switzerland border we must inform you that shipments longer than 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be carried out.

Because of the high volume of shipments it is possible that the order may be delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging.
