Description from the seller
Metal military scale model - Fokker Dr.I Triplane Fighter "Red Baron" (WWI) - Hand Painted
Iconic ornamental replica inspired by the famous Fokker Dr.I warplane, the legendary three-wing fighter used by the German Empire's military aviation during World War I. This model directly evokes the famous line of aircraft piloted by the German aces, led by Manfred von Richthofen, who went down in history as the "Red Baron".
Entirely made of metal (iron sheet) with shaped details and assembled using visible artisanal welding techniques.
The piece is entirely hand-painted in military green livery. On the upper and lower wings are manually decorated the famous German iron crosses (Balkenkreuz), the official war insignia introduced in spring 1918 for the recognition of aircraft in battle. The color application features a deliberately rustic and imperfect finish, designed to recreate the charm of a relic from bygone times.
Splendid display piece and piece of war memorabilia. It features the propeller and movable wheels, decorative reproductions of the wing struts, and a distinctive frontal radiator mounted on the nose. A perfect decor accessory for study rooms, offices, or collections with a historical and industrial theme.
Overall good structural condition. The model is solid and intact in every component (wings, landing gear and propeller are stable).
Height 17 cm, depth 27 cm, width 31 cm.
