Porcelain teacup from Jingdezhen, China, dating to the Qing Dynasty Kangxi period (c. 1662–1722), in good condition with brown exterior glaze and an interior decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red enamel and gilding, titled Kangxi tea cup.
Description from the seller
A finely decorated antique Chinese porcelain teacup attributed to the Kangxi period (1662–1722) of the Qing Dynasty.
The exterior is covered in a rich brown glaze, while the interior is beautifully decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red enamel and gilding.
The interior features an elegant combination of traditional Chinese decorative motifs, including flowering plants, ornamental rocks, pavilions, architectural scenes and precious antique objects (Bogu motifs).
The delicate painting and carefully arranged composition reflect the refined decorative style associated with Kangxi-period porcelain.
The contrast between the rich brown-glazed exterior and the colourful interior decoration creates a particularly attractive appearance.
The porcelain has a smooth, lustrous glaze, retaining its beautiful original sheen.
A charming example of Chinese porcelain, suitable for collectors of Kangxi ceramics and early Qing Dynasty decorative arts.
