Description from the seller

Beautiful antique Louis XVI / neoclassical scent-burning cassolette, probably made at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th.

The piece features a rich relief decoration with medallions depicting feminine profiles in the antique style, garlands of flowers and fruits, fluting, foliage and ornate handles. It rests on a substantial decorative pedestal adorned with a polychrome floral medallion.

The upper part consists of a hinged lid, allowing the cassolette to be opened. The whole is made of old metal with a bronze/copper patina. Since the exact composition of the metal has not been analyzed, no attribution to solid bronze is claimed.

Dimensions: approximately 31 cm high × 16 cm long × 8 cm wide.
