Description from the seller
Fossil. An Abelisaurid dinosaur tooth.
Fossil: This perfectly preserved, very large tooth comes from a theropod of the Abelisaurid group, a group of carnivorous dinosaurs. These were recognizable by their extremely small forelimbs, short, deep snouts, small sharp teeth, and strong muscular hind limbs.
This tooth comes from an as-yet undescribed Abelisaurid species from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco.
So far only two Abelisaurid species have probably been found in Morocco's Kem-Kem Beds. One Abelisaurid (Rugops primus) was named after the Echkar Formation in Niger.
Era. Cretaceous Cenomanian ca. 100 million years ago
This tooth has a very sharp, fine serration along both edges.
Length of fossil: approx. 28 mm
Locality: Kem-Kem Beds, Morocco
