Ancient manuscripts, two Latin original books from Italy with an unknown author, in very good condition and dating from 1400.
Description from the seller
Here is the summary in continuous text format:
These are original handwritten notarial deeds dating to the late 15th century, written in Latin with the typical notarial cursive script of the period. The documents bear very precise dates in the header: the first was drafted on February 14, 1483, while the second dates to March 27, 1499. Both pages show the characteristic notarial mark, namely the graphic symbol drawn by the notary to officially authenticate the deed, accompanied by its signature formula. Content-wise, the texts attest to private-law legal contracts between citizens, such as land sales, transfers of ownership, or debt instruments.
The gilded frame is recent and has been used to preserve the manuscripts.
Framed dimensions: 29 x 53 and 29 x 45.
