Russian Kliper spacecraft model in two versions, 1:50 scale, made of balsa wood in multiple colours, new, without original box.
Description from the seller
In 2004, the Russian Federal Space Agency proposed replacing the venerable Soyuz spacecraft with a concept of a partially reusable spacecraft capable of carrying up to six passengers. There were two proposals. One was a lifting-body type and the other a spaceplane with small wings.
Despite a collaboration envisaged and studied with the European Space Agency, the project was abandoned in 2007.
The two scale models (1/50) were made in 2005 entirely in balsa by the seller, a space specialist and modeller.
The two versions are presented on two distinct pedestals where there is a silhouette at the scale of a Soyuz spacecraft. The two models can be displayed on the adapter section of the third stage of the launcher, where the rescue equipment in case of launch failure is visible.
In September 2005, the winged version of the model carried out several parabolas aboard the Airbus Zero G during a Novespace campaign, allowing Kliper to experience weightlessness!
Exclusive realization (2005) and the seller's personal collection
Winged Kliper + adapter – Base 1: 32 x 10 cm - model 21 cm
Lifting Body Kliper – Base 2: 25 x 10.5 cm - model 21 cm
