"Second Feature" takes place at an open-air cinema at the end of a summer day, where rows of parked cars fill the gravel field beneath a deep indigo sky and the last orange light lingers over the hills. A giant screen glows at the edge of the lot, and on it a couple in black and white leans into a kiss.

A woman sits on the bonnet of a cream convertible, one leg crossed over the other, her bare feet hanging in the warm air. Her dark waves of hair move in the evening breeze, her off-the-shoulder dress is printed with small blue flowers, and an orange silk scarf is tied loosely at her neck. Her face is turned in profile toward the screen, lips slightly parted, as if she were hearing something the film has not yet said.

Beside her, a striped box of popcorn and a paper cup with a straw rest on the polished metal, and a coat lies abandoned on the seat behind. To the left, the lit windows of the snack bar glow in orange, with a small crowd moving inside. The scene feels like a night that belongs to no particular year, a private pause in a crowded place, where the story on the screen and the one in her mind seem to run side by side.

The artwork explores themes such as nostalgia, longing, the suspended time of dusk, the intimacy of watching alone among others and the dialogue between cinema and memory.
