Casio Pro Trek PRT-60, a 1990s quartz men’s watch with a resin (plastic) case and aluminium bezel, black dial, 46 mm case diameter, rubber strap, water resistance to 10 atm, and features including a triple sensor, LCD contrast adjustment and a built‑in pedometer.
Description from the seller
1. Appearance and Size Specifications
• Case Size (Height × Width): Approx. 50.0 mm × 46.0 mm
(Maximum width including the bezel and sensor protrusions. Compared to the flagship model of the time, the “PRT-40,” the width has been reduced by a few millimeters, making it less likely to catch on a cuff.)
• Thickness: Approx. 14.5 mm to 15.0 mm (*This was the standard thickness for resin sensor watches at the time.)
• Case Material: Resin (plastic) / Aluminum (bezel parts)
• Crystal: Inorganic glass
• Water Resistance: 10 atm (Enhanced water resistance for daily use; suitable for outdoor activities near water)
2. Distinctive Features (Details)
It’s packed with unique features characteristic of 1990s gadgets that aren’t found in current ProTrek models.
• Trekking Counter (Walking Distance Calculation)
The built-in simple pedometer automatically counts steps as soon as you start walking. By entering your “stride length (cm)” in advance, it automatically calculates the distance traveled (km) based on “total steps × stride length” and displays it on the LCD.
• LCD Contrast Adjustment
You can manually adjust the “brightness” of the LCD display to suit your preferences. This was a design feature of the time intended to improve readability when the display became faint or the response speed slowed down in cold environments, such as on snow-covered mountains.
• Triple Sensor (Barometric Pressure, Altitude, Temperature, Compass)
• Altitude Measurement: Measures relative altitude and displays it graphically.
• Barometric Pressure Measurement: Displays barometric pressure trends as a guide for weather forecasting.
• Temperature Measurement: Displays temperature in Celsius (°C).
• Simplified Compass Function: Indicates direction using graphics around the perimeter of the LCD screen.
3. Other Basic Specifications
• World Time: Displays the current time in major cities around the world.
• Backlight: EL backlight (with afterglow function). Even at night or inside a dark tent, the entire screen glows blue-green with the press of a button, ensuring high visibility.
• Power Source: Battery-powered (quartz). Battery life is approximately 2 years (depending on frequency of use).
