Description from the seller
Downtown - 03 (n.756)
The measurements are: 40.00 cm x 50.00 cm
Acrylics on small pieces of paper on canvas (mixed media)
Unframed; shipped rolled.
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the trash.

Downtown Series - With the Downtown series you perceive a vibrant, urban, and almost frenetic energy. Moving from the portraits and the so intense and focused social themes of "Not your doll" to this urban landscape, I intend to explore the chaos and the lights of the city and how we position ourselves in this era on this planet.
The depicted metropolis seems not only as a physical space, but as a visual representation of the weight of our era.
From a virgin forest which was our planet, humans have arrived at colonizing and disturbing the environment, creating and shaping their own habitat, with their economic and social evolution.

This work is unique and original.
Each work is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipping worldwide, including the Certificate of Authenticity.
I use the courier provided directly by Catawiki and a tracking number will be supplied for the shipment.
This piece will be shipped without a frame and without a stretch as it will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the extra surface will be useful and necessary to be able to stretch the canvas on a frame.
It is advisable to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a possible and appropriate frame.
The images showing the work in interior settings are for illustration purposes only and the proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those stated in the description.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.

Thank you.

Born in 1974, I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture behind and dedicating myself to acrylic painting.
I love painting abstract landscapes but in recent times I am also pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real.
For me painting is "locking the time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are street views of walls, also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that - over time - grow on the surface.
The passing of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I adore sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs that are clearly perceptible to the touch as well as to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years during which my works were created from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and repeated grids with mathematical precision that up close seem to form an abstract, all-coloured painting but the more you move away the more a portrait figure emerges made up of many painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or worse, victims of violence.
