Akai - HX-27W - Double Cassette recorder-player

The Akai HX-27W is a cassette deck from the 1980s, designed for recording and playing audio cassettes with a focus on sound quality and user-friendliness. This model is an example of Akai’s reputation for high-quality tape solutions from that era.

Key features:
Type Deck:
The HX-27W is a dual-cassette deck, meaning it can process two cassette tapes at the same time. This makes it possible to copy tapes or to switch between different tapes with ease without having to remove the cassette from the deck.
Dolby B Noise Reduction:
The unit features Dolby B noise reduction, a system that helps reduce background noise and improve the sound quality of recordings by reducing hiss and interference.
HX Pro:
The HX-27W is equipped with Akai’s HX Pro technology, an advanced system that improves sound quality by optimizing frequency response and dynamic range of the recording. It also helps minimize distortion and enhance the clarity of the recordings.
Automatic Tape Type Selection:
The device can automatically detect the type of tape (Normal, Chrome, or Metal) and adjust the recording settings accordingly to ensure optimal sound quality.
Digital Peak Meters:
The HX-27W is equipped with digital peak meters that visually display the audio signal level. This helps prevent distortion from excessively high levels and ensures precise adjustment of the recording settings.
Advanced Recording and Playback Features:
The deck offers manual controls for setting recording levels and other parameters. There are also fast search features and the ability to make recordings with precision.
Dual Tape Mechanism:
With a dual tape mechanism, both cassette decks can be used independently, which is convenient for dubbing or playing back different tapes without manual swapping.
Construction and Design:
The HX-27W has a sturdy build and a classic design with a user-friendly interface, including buttons for play, record, and other functions. The ease of use and build quality make it a reliable device for everyday use.
