Canon FP Meter, an external, coupled exposure metering module for the Canon FP film SLR, in good physical condition and tested and working, dating from 1960–1970, with original leather case, manual and Canon packaging bag.
Description from the seller
This is the Canon FP Meter, released in the 1960s as an external, coupled exposure metering module designed specifically for the Canon FP film SLR camera—a precision accessory for early film-based photographic systems.
Constructed from aluminum alloy and black-painted metal, the unit features a robust mechanical design. Its dials and viewing windows adhere to the original manufacturer’s design logic, with clear, legible markings on the metal scales. The meter attaches directly to the camera body and couples with the shutter system, providing exposure guidance during an era before automatic metering became commonplace. It is relatively rare to find such original-manufacturer accessories that still include their complete, original packaging and instruction manuals.
The metal housing shows signs of normal use, including surface scratches and minor oxidation, with some wear to the black-painted finish. The meter needle remains functional. Included are the original leather carrying case, the manufacturer’s instruction manual, and the original Canon packaging bag.
