An exclusive reissue of the iconic Inflatable Stool of the 1960s, designed by the renowned Danish designer and pioneer Verner Panton, was produced by Verpan exclusively for Prada on the occasion of the Prada Uomo Spring/Summer 2019 show, held in Milan on June 17, 2018. The stool features a special inscription “VERPAN for PRADA”.
With the Inflatable Stool, Panton created a piece that is simple, yet despite its modest appearance offers an extraordinary visual quality to the seating experience, best described as “floating in the air”.
Introduced in the early 1960s, Verner Panton's Inflatable Stool was one of the first furniture pieces made from inflatable material.
The Inflatable Stool is an excellent example of Panton's curiosity and bold approach to new materials. It also showcases his unique talent for systematic thinking, as the cubes were designed to be used singly or in groups, to create a lounge area or a daybed.
