Description from the seller

Wonderful, richly detailed, handmade montagem in the form of a small display case.
It presents in the center a beautiful black-and-white engraving of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Montmartre (Paris), with the figure of Christ with open arms over the globe. It bears the Latin inscription "EGO SUM VIA VERITAS ET VITA" (“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”).
The image is framed by a complex lattice of passementerie trim and textured gold galloons over a yellow-gold damask background. Four relief flowers are symmetrically applied in the outer quadrants.
The inner surround is finished with a delicate white bobbin-lace ribbon, heightening the color contrast.
The entire structure is protected by the original glass of the period, edged by a twisted gold cord.
Good overall condition, considering the piece’s age. It shows a natural patina of time on the metal threads and fabrics, which gives it an authentic historical character and vintage charm.
