Garcia (XX)’s signed original oil painting *Village méditerranéen*, an Impressionist urban landscape from 1970–1980, is from France and is sold framed, measuring 57 × 49 cm.
Description from the seller
Magnificent original oil on canvas, executed mainly with a knife, depicting a picturesque Mediterranean village alley.
The composition takes us to the heart of a village with limewashed houses, arranged around a succession of lanes and staircases. A bell tower dominates the rooftops while balconies, doors and windows punctuate the façades. A few especially vivid touches of blue, yellow and red bring light and animate the scene.
The artist works the paint with generous impasto, particularly visible on the walls, the staircases and the floors. The use of the knife adds a lot of relief and character to the whole, with a luminous palette dominated by whites, turquoise tones and earthy hues.
Signature visible on the canvas
Dimensions 57/49 cm.
