Vintage table lamp with a silvered metal greyhound, wood and leather – Spain, c. 1950.

Elegant figurative table lamp, probably Spanish-made in the mid-20th century, depicting a greyhound or hunting dog in motion over a relief-modelled botanical landscape.

The sculpture and vertical support, worked in a bamboo-like fashion, feature a silvered metal finish and patina. The figure is mounted on an original oval wooden base moulded in the style of an antique travelling case or hatbox, decorated with a wide black leather strap and a metal buckle. It has an original or antique lampshade, oval in shape, covered with cream fabric and finished with fringe.

The combination of the hunting theme, wood, leather and metal gives it an elegant aesthetic, close to the Country House style and mid-20th-century equestrian decor.
