Description of the object
For sale is a splendid, round jewelry and collectors' box of exquisite craftsmanship. The box captivates with its detailed, relief floral engraving in the noble Baroque or Historicism style.
The hinged lid is set with seven intensely green malachite cabochons in total. A large, round malachite stone forms the center, surrounded in a circular arrangement by six smaller stones. The sidewall of the box is also adorned around the perimeter with matching malachite stones, giving the object an elegant presence from every angle.
The inner side of the box as well as the relief structures are beautifully fire-gilded (or yellow-gilded).
Material & Authenticity
The object is unmarked, which is not uncommon for antique pieces or custom-made items from this era. The precious metal content has therefore been verified by a professional touchstone test followed by acid tests on the touchstone:
Base material: Real silver (the characteristic red-brown color reaction on slate confirms the silver content).
Surface: High-quality gilding (vermeil).

Surface: In keeping with its age, there is a light, natural wear of the gilding on the bottom underside (at the base points) as well as inside the box. This underscores the antique character and authenticity of the piece, as the underlying silver subtly shows through.
