The back structure is in solid wood, well preserved, sturdy and complete with the original hanging hook.
Excellent general condition, with the natural patina of time attesting to its authenticity and age. Rear support healthy and ready for use.
Estimated period: Second half of the 19th century.
Style: Eclectic/Umbertine.
External carving: Presents a motif of interwoven laurel or acanthus leaf festoons, worked in relief with gold leaf or meccha gilding.
Inner band: Worked with the classical technique of "granulation" or flat gilded sandblasting, creating a pleasant texture contrast and lending deep elegance to the painting frame.
Back: Solid assembly in pine/fir boards dressed flat, joined with half-gingerbread joints and typical tenons of late 19th / early 20th century cabinetmaking, with the natural brown patina of antique wood.
