Description from the seller
An attractive historical mineral specimen from the renowned Broken Hill mining district of New South Wales, Australia.
The specimen is richly covered with bright lemon-yellow crystals arranged in dense clusters and radiating aggregates. Their vivid colour is set off by a contrasting dark matrix, creating a striking and highly decorative appearance.
Numerous small, well-defined crystal faces give the surface a sparkling, three-dimensional texture, while the varied aggregate forms add visual depth and interest. The combination of intense yellow colour, intricate crystal habit, and dark contrast makes this an appealing addition to a collection of classic Australian minerals.
The specimen comes from an older mineral collection and retains its original collector’s documentation, identifying it as pyromorphite from Broken Hill. This historical provenance adds context and collector interest, while the identification remains based on the accompanying records and visual characteristics. No laboratory analysis has been performed to confirm the mineral species or the reported supplementary minerals.
Condition
Good overall condition for a historical mineral specimen.
The specimen retains extensive crystal coverage, strong natural colour, and well-preserved aggregate formations. Minor edge wear and small imperfections may be present, consistent with the delicate crystals and age of the specimen.
No obvious repairs or restoration are visible in the photographs.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
The specimen will be carefully packed to help protect its delicate crystal formations during shipping.
