In 1973 three trainsets were produced, consisting of two power cars and two intermediate coaches; they were of variable formation and all the bogies were powered; it could reach 200 km/h.
They had a short life because they were not very versatile; and in 1982 all three were ceded to Lufthansa Airport Express for connections between the main German airports.
