• Left-hand drive
• "Nut & Bold" restored in 2010-2012
• Very good condition
• Black leather interior with rootwood veneer
• Seat heating
• Alloy wheels recently polished

GENERAL
The top model of the TVR S-series with the desirable 3,950 cc V8 engine. With an acceleration time of 5.0 seconds to 100 km/h, this car is faster than a Ferrari Testarossa from the same era! A commendable performance for the small British marque. This specimen is left-hand drive and was first delivered on 6 June 1992. It had already come to the Netherlands in 2000, after which the TVR "Nut & Bold" restoration took place from 2010 to 2012. The current owner has enjoyed the car since 2018. The TVR is in very good optical and technical condition and has a valid MOT until 13 October 2028. The chassis number is SDLDSC4P9NCO11820.
EXTERIOR
During the restoration the car was largely dismantled and many parts were renewed. The paintwork is newly sprayed in a lovely dark blue metallic and the mohair soft top is renewed and finished in black. Two roof sections are detachable, creating a targa top; the rear section can then fold back to form a full convertible. The visual condition is very good with only minor signs of use.
Rubber, chrome trim, glass and lighting are in good condition. The hood has a large bulge to accommodate the big engine. The 15-inch alloy wheels have been recently repainted and are fitted with Dunlop Sport tires with still adequate tread.
INTERIOR
The leather interior is finished in black leather and is adorned with rootwood. The windows and mirrors are electrically operated. A Pioneer radio is installed. The interior is in neat and original condition with only light signs of use. The leather upholstery is free of creases. The luggage compartment is very neat and houses the spare wheel, which has a new tire.
TECHNICAL
Technically the TVR is well maintained. The underside is in very good condition, as is the engine bay (see our extensive photo report). The engine is one of the last without a catalytic converter. The car starts, drives, stops and shifts well. The V8 engine is originally from Rover and delivers 240 hp and 366 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual and rear-wheel drive.
Thanks to its light weight of about 1,030 kg, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about five seconds and reaches a top speed of around 240 km/h. The engine features an aluminum construction, fuel injection and a distinctive deep V8 sound. This sound is addictive! The steel chassis, fiberglass body and independent suspension contribute to the direct handling.
GENERAL
TVR S-series cars were produced for nine years, from 1986 to 1994, and consisted of six variants: the S1, S2, S3, S3C, S4C and the V8S. This TVR was intended as a new entry-level model. The exterior design was inspired by the TVR 3000S, while the technology was based on the TVR Tasmin 280i. The S-series is also seen as the first run with the now-iconic curved dashboards, a beloved styling element later echoed in many TVR models.
The V8 S version emerged more or less out of necessity. Originally the plan was to base the TVR Griffith on the S-series platform, but with a Rover-sourced V8 engine instead of the Ford V6. As the development of the Griffith took longer than expected, TVR built a short-term solution. With a modified chassis and a revised body to house the larger engine up to 3,948 cc, the V8 S and S4C were born.
With 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, this model accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds and reached a top speed of 240 km/h. To handle these performance figures, the car was equipped with disc brakes all around, unlike the drum brakes at the rear of earlier models. Only 456 units of this model were built, making it rare today, particularly a left-hand drive version.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
