This pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern ceiling or wall lights from 1960–1970 has transparent, diamond-patterned glass diffusers and black heat-resistant plastic bases.
Description from the seller
Ceiling/ wall-mounted vintage lamps or sconces, characterized by a glass diffuser stamped with a diamond pattern (or pyramid tips) and a circular black heat-resistant plastic base.
Period spanning the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s (around 1965-1975).
Typical design of the Modernariato / Space Age in the European area (very widespread in both Italian production and German/North European production of the era).
Features and Typology
The work with a geometric grain of ridges and raised pyramids refracts light, creating prismatic effects and plays of brightness when the bulb is on.
Often sold in pairs, they were used in entrances, corridors or bathrooms due to the material’s resistance and the excellent diffusion of light.
