Antique Aubusson-style Chinese rug – 240 × 145 cm
We present a precious antique Chinese rug in Aubusson style, made approximately between 1940 and 1950.
Origin: China

The rug is crafted using an old technique of manual tufting, where wool tufts are worked by hand on a cotton base. On the back, the structure is stabilized with a traditional fixing compound that keeps the tufts in place, and finally protected by a textile lining. The pile is worked and trimmed by hand, creating the beautiful raised relief characteristic of this type of rug.
It features an elegant Aubusson-inspired floral design, with a delicate color combination and an attractive raised effect.
