AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Excellent set of three antique plates in genuine hard-paste Chinese porcelain, produced in the iconic Jingdezhen region and marketed through the Canton port for the Western export market (porcelain referred to as East India Company ware). The lot comprises a functional-era trio: a soup plate (deep) and two shallow plates.

All pieces are entirely hand-decorated with cobalt pigment under glaze (Qinghua), presenting the classic "Canton/Nanking" pattern. The central scene depicts a detailed and rich traditional river landscape with pavilions and pagodas, stone bridges, local figures, weeping willows and rugged mountains in the background, surrounded by a complex geometric border on the rim.

• Origin: China (Jingdezhen / Canton).
• Era: Qing Dynasty, late 18th to mid-19th century (c. 1780–1850).
• Type of Porcelain: True hard-paste porcelain (kaolin and petuntse).
• Composition: 1 soup plate and 2 side plates.

• General Condition: Good overall condition for utilitarian pieces over 150 years old.
• Manufacturing Details: Presence of slight firing imperfections and small black iron specks in the body, normal in export porcelain of this period. Slight wear on the glaze surface and expected edge chipping (fritting) due to age. No restorations detected [Catawiki].

The lot will be shipped via Registered Mail with a tracking number through CTT or an equivalent international carrier (such as DPD, DHL or UPS). Shipping includes reinforced professional packaging: each plate will be individually wrapped in high-density bubble plastic and placed in a box with cushioning material to ensure total integrity of the pieces during transport.
