Description from the seller
A unique and extremely rare collectible for enthusiasts of post-impressionist art and Belgian gallery history.
This is an original, vintage exhibition poster for the French master Robert Delval (1934–2024) Les Galeries Roussard. The poster was specially printed for his exclusive exhibition at the renowned Poseidoon Gallery, then located at the prestigious Leopold II Avenue 24 in the fashionable art city of Ostend.
This exhibition ran from 1975-1978 in the gallery.
Extremely Rare (Éphémère Heritage): Because these posters were purely intended for temporary window promotions during the exhibition (late 1976), the vast majority were discarded at the time. Copies in this exceptionally good, fresh condition have become virtually unavailable on the public art market.
The poster features one of Delval’s most sought-after and valued masterpieces: 'Jeune fille au manteau noir' (Young Woman in a Black Coat) Bibelot & Co.
• Poseidoon Gallery was in the 70s the artistic hotspot on the Belgian coast where international allure and local talent came together
excellent vintage condition with preservation of its powerful, original colors. No heavy creases or distracting damage, which is remarkable for paper of almost 50 years old. The item is neatly presented in a sleek, minimalist black frame, making the artwork ready to hang in a modern or classical interior.
As you may notice I had AI assist in writing this text because I couldn’t progress further as a framed poster. 70x50. :-)
Buyers living in the Canary Islands: please double-check that this is correctly listed in your account and not Spain, as shipping to the islands is more expensive and import taxes apply. Shipping costs to Spain do not cover the shipment, and an extra charge will have to be applied.
