Samovar - Nickel plated brass

Original Russian samovar from Tula, dating to the mid/late 19th century, coal-fired, brass with a niche, on the side, with wooden handles and knobs; manufacturing mark readable inside the upper tube; four zoophic feet. On the smooth front of the body it does not have the two-headed eagle. It belonged to my mother’s professor of Russian language and literature, who, before dying in the 1970s, gave it to my family. It shows only a small dent in the central body, surely due to its transport from Russia around the year 1900.
