Mamiya Mamiya-6 Analogue folding camera

# Mamiya-6 6×6 Folding Rangefinder Camera – Vintage 120 Film

**Serial Number:** 308778

Thank you very much for viewing this classic Mamiya-6 medium-format folding camera from Japan.

First introduced in 1940, the original Mamiya Six series represents an important chapter in the history of Japanese camera manufacturing. Designed for 120 roll film, these cameras produce large 6×6cm square-format photographs, offering the distinctive composition and image characteristics of medium-format photography.

One of the most interesting features of the Mamiya-6 is its unique focusing mechanism, which moves the film plane rather than the lens to achieve focus. This innovative design distinguishes it from many other folding cameras of the same period.

Its folding bellows construction allows the lens assembly to be stored compactly inside the camera body, combining portability with traditional medium-format photography. The mechanical design and classic appearance make the Mamiya-6 particularly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of vintage Japanese cameras.

## ■ Appearance

The camera is in good overall cosmetic condition for its age, showing only minor surface scuffs from normal use.

The exterior remains generally clean and attractive, retaining much of its original vintage character.

Please note that there is some peeling of the exterior leather covering in certain areas.

Despite this age-related cosmetic condition, the camera maintains an appealing classic appearance.

## ■ Viewfinder / Optics

**Viewfinder:**

There is some fungus and haze inside the viewfinder.

These conditions are visible upon inspection and should be taken into consideration when evaluating this vintage camera.
