Silver coin of 20 Drachmae issued by the Kingdom of Greece in 1960, during the reign of Paul I, characterized by its elegant classical-inspired design. The obverse presents the left-profile portrait of the monarch, rendered in a realistic and sober style, accompanied by the Greek legend identifying his royal title and the year of issue. The reverse depicts the goddess Selene, personification of the Moon in Greek mythology, mounted on a moving horse above the waves, in a dynamic composition that evokes the artistic tradition of ancient Greece. The female figure, with flowing garments and the raised arm, provides a notable sense of movement and balance to the ensemble. An example in excellent condition, with well-defined reliefs, attractive traces of original luster, and a delicate silvery patina with slight golden tones in certain peripheral areas.
