Baluch Sumak - Rug - 243 cm - 128 cm

Splendid Soumak kilim (Baluch), 243 x 128 cm. A nice color contrast: the central field apricot and the border with a blue-violet background. Both the field (with a continuous rug-like pattern) and the border are decorated with beautiful motifs; the motifs of the field and the border echo each other, but are arranged perpendicularly, creating an interesting visual contrast. The kilim is thick and sturdy, also due to the threads left on the back (weft substitution technique). An exceptional piece with a beautiful coloration. The colors are no longer as bright as in the original, as is normal for an older rug. Clean.
