Description from the seller
Cadillac XLR Convertible 4.6 V8 – 2007 – Black Raven – Electric Hardtop – Extensive service history
The 2007 Cadillac XLR Convertible is among the most remarkable and exclusive American luxury roadsters of the 2000s. With its distinctive, angular styling, powerful Northstar V8 engine, advanced technology, and electrically retractable hardtop, this Cadillac combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort and luxury of a high-end grand tourer.
The XLR was introduced in 2003 as Cadillac’s new flagship and was produced until 2009. The model was based on the advanced GM Y-platform, which was also used for the Chevrolet Corvette C6. The XLR was built at the specialized Bowling Green plant in Kentucky, where the Corvette was also produced.
The design of the XLR was heavily inspired by the Cadillac Evoq Concept Car from 1999 and is characterized by sharp lines, vertical lighting, a long hood, and a low, wide body. This distinctive styling still makes the XLR a striking sight today.
Under the hood sits the 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine with 320 hp. This all-aluminum eight-cylinder features four overhead camshafts and 32 valves. The engine delivers its power in a notably smooth manner while also providing the characteristic performance and sound of an American V8.
One of the most notable features of the Cadillac XLR is the fully electric, aluminum hardtop, which can be automatically opened or closed in about 30 seconds. This combines the elegance of an open roadster with the comfort and practical benefits of a closed coupé.
Technically, the XLR was ahead of its time. The model features Magnetic Ride Control, an advanced adaptive suspension that continuously adjusts damping to the driving conditions. In addition, it includes a Head-Up Display, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, a start button, and a high-end Bose audio system as part of its impressive equipment.
This example offered here is finished in the stylish Black Raven color (41U), paired with a beautiful light beige leather interior and elegant wood accents. The black bodywork forms a particularly attractive contrast with the polished aluminum wheels and the light interior.
This Cadillac also boasts an exceptionally extensive and well-documented service history. The accompanying clean CARFAX report contains no fewer than 39 maintenance records, supporting the mileage history and the damage-free past according to available American vehicle registrations.
The most recent service entry dates from December 2025, less than 1,000 miles ago. Notably, the maintenance history documents several major technical works, including an engine replacement in March 2020.
The combination of the exclusive design, powerful V8, extensive luxury features, and the especially well-documented maintenance history makes this Cadillac XLR an attractive American luxury roadster.
BODY/PAINT:
The bodywork of this Cadillac XLR Convertible presents in a well-maintained condition. The car is finished in the elegant factory color Black Raven (41U), a deep black paint that suits the XLR’s bold design perfectly.
The paint has a fine luster, and the large flat body panels reflect light in an attractive manner. The long hood, wide rear fenders, and sharp body lines are particularly well showcased.
The car appears well-kept in the photos, with light signs of use appropriate to its age and mileage. On the front there are a few small stone chips and superficial wear.
The characteristic vertical taillights, the broad Cadillac grille with a central emblem, and the integrated fog lights are key features of the original design. The four exhaust tips, the XLR emblems, and the polished aluminum wheels contribute to the exclusive appearance.
The car sits on attractive 18-inch polished aluminum wheels with Cadillac center caps. The wheels complement the black body and enhance the roadster’s elegant character.
An important technical feature of the XLR is its advanced body construction, which combines composite materials with a rigid vehicle structure. This contributes to favorable weight distribution, good torsional stiffness, and sporty driving dynamics.
The electrically retractable hardtop is one of the most impressive elements of the design. In closed state the XLR has the look of an elegant coupé, while with the roof down the car becomes a stylish two-seater roadster.
The roof fully retracts into the designated space behind the seats. In the photos the hardtop is shown both opened and closed, as well as the roof mechanism construction.
The doors, mirrors, lighting, and body details visually integrate well with the well-kept overall image. The rubbers and visible seals around the doors and roof structure also present a neat impression.
Thanks to the combination of the black paint, light interior, polished wheels, and distinctive cabriolet design, this Cadillac XLR presents a stylish silhouette.
TECHNICAL:
This Cadillac XLR is powered by the well-known 4.6-liter Northstar V8 gasoline engine. This naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine has a displacement of 4,565 cc and delivers 320 hp.
The Northstar V8 is among the most technically advanced American engines of its era. The engine features an aluminum block and cylinder heads, four overhead camshafts, 32 valves, and electronic engine management.
The engine is known for its smooth power delivery and refined character. Thanks to its ample torque, the XLR is particularly suitable for relaxed long-distance cruising, while the V8 also provides ample power for sporty driving.
Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive, together with the balanced chassis construction, defines the classic Grand Tourer driving characteristics.
One of the key technical features is the advanced Magnetic Ride Control suspension. This system uses electronically controlled dampers with magnetorheological fluid, allowing damping to be very quickly adjusted to changing driving conditions.
This provides the XLR with a unique combination of comfortable ride and sporty handling. The system helps limit body movements and contributes to stable and controlled driving.
In addition, the car is equipped with independent suspension on all four corners, speed-sensitive Magnasteer power steering, electronic traction control, and StabiliTrak stability control.
The braking system consists of disc brakes on all four wheels, supplemented by ABS and electronic stability control.
The Cadillac rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with tires sized P235/50R18. The original suspension and tire configuration are tuned for a balance of comfort, stability, and sporty performance.
A particularly attractive aspect of this example is the very extensive service history. The CARFAX report lists 39 maintenance records, with the car being regularly serviced for many years by specialized Cadillac- and GM-dealers in California.
The maintenance records show, among other things, regular oil and filter changes, brake system checks, transmission maintenance, fuel pump replacement, steering system work, and various major services.
In March 2020, the engine was replaced at Diamond Cadillac Buick GMC in Palmdale. During the same shop entry, the starter, spark plugs, and battery were also replaced.
In April 2022, the fuel pump, fuel pump module, and a fuel line or hose were replaced.
During an extensive service in March 2023, among other things, engine oil and oil filter were replaced, brake fluid flushed, air filter and cabin filter replaced, and differential and transmission fluids replaced.
In April 2024 another extensive service followed, including spark plugs replacement, fuel system cleaning, and transmission fluid replacement.
The most recent registered maintenance dates from December 2025 and were performed by Magic GMC Cadillac in Valencia, California. The engine/drive-line electronics were checked.

In addition, the car has keyless entry, a start button, power trunk, power mirrors, rain sensor, and various automatic comfort features.
The electric operation of the hardtop is integrated into the interior, allowing the car to switch from coupé to cabriolet with a single operation.

The car is equipped with light beige leather interior, paired with a black dashboard, elegant wood accents, and metallic trim panels. This color combination provides an attractive contrast with the deep black exterior.
The leather sport seats offer a comfortable shape with integrated headrests and good lateral support. The leather is in neat used condition, with light signs of wear and natural creasing appropriate for the car’s age.
Both front seats are electrically adjustable in eight directions and have an electric lumbar support. In addition, both the cushions and backrests are heated and cooled, a particularly luxurious feature for a roadster of this era.
The driver's seat has a memory function that can store two personal settings. The system remembers, among other things, the seat position, the outside mirrors, and the electrically adjustable steering column.
The dashboard features a characteristic Cadillac design with a mix of light and dark materials. Wood-grain accents on the center console, gear selector, and steering wheel give the interior a classic, luxurious look.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is electrically adjustable in height and reach and includes integrated controls for the audio system, voice command, and cruise control.
A special detail is the instrument cluster with analog gauges designed by BVLGARI. This exclusive collaboration emphasizes the XLR’s luxurious character and sets the model apart from many other American sports cars of the same era.
The car also features an advanced Head-Up Display, projecting important driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight. The system can display speed, selected gear, information from the adaptive cruise control, and audio system data.
At the center of the dashboard is the original Cadillac navigation and multimedia system with a 6.5-inch color touchscreen. The system features DVD navigation, AM/FM radio, an integrated six-disc CD changer, and various touchscreen controls.
The high-end Bose Premium audio system with nine speakers provides rich, clear sound. The speakers are neatly integrated into the interior and door panels.
The climate control system offers separate temperature settings for driver and passenger. It also includes air filtration and various automatic comfort functions.
The Cadillac is equipped with adaptive cruise control that automatically adjusts speed to surrounding traffic. This system works with the radar sensors and Head-Up Display and was an especially advanced feature for its time.
In addition, the car has keyless entry, a start button, power trunk, power mirrors, rain sensor, and various automatic comfort features.
The electric operation of the hardtop is integrated into the interior, allowing the car to switch from coupé to cabriolet with a single operation.
The black headliner of the hardtop is in good condition and provides a pleasing contrast with the light interior.
The combination of light leather, wood trim, Bose audio system, Head-Up Display, and extensive electric comfort features makes the interior of this XLR particularly attractive.
