This tapestry is the result of an official collaboration dating from the mid-1970s between the estate of Bernard Buffet and the historic French textile manufacturer DMC (Dollfus-Mieg & Compagnie).
DMC marketed these pieces as high-end tapestry kits. They enabled artisans to recreate Buffet's characteristic clean, precise lines and melancholy post-war color palette, using high-quality long-stitch wool yarn on pre-printed canvas
