This red metal Cavalier Corporation Coca-Cola bottle vending machine, dating from 1940–1950, is heavily used, may have small parts missing and has not been tested.
Description from the seller
Beautiful vintage Coca-Cola glass-bottle vending machine, presumably produced between the late 1940s and early 1950s by the American company Cavalier Corporation. The upright design with rounded corners, the raised “Drink Coca-Cola in Bottles” lettering, and the classic “ICE COLD” inscription evoke the most iconic models of the golden era of American vending machines.
The machine features an original red-painted metal frame, with front door, mechanical coin slot compartment, and an interior complete with bottle-sleeving columns. Inside, the distribution mechanism and the selector/coin mech marked NRI (National Rejectors Inc.), a component typical of American vending machines of the period, are still present.
Dimensions are approximately:
64 x 60 x H 164 cm
Esthetic/condition descriptions:
The vending machine presents in generally good conservative condition, with a strong visual impact and an excellent vintage patina. However there are signs of age and use, including:
- scratches and abrasions on the paint
- small impacts and oxidation spots
- touch-ups and probable repainting carried out over time
- wear on the lower parts and edges
- marks and opacity on the chrome parts and the coin slot
Functional condition:
The machine is sold as a collectible/vintage furnishings object and has not been tested for operation. From the images it seems fairly complete internally, but some mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant components necessary to make it operational again or restore it professionally may be missing. A technical inspection by a restorer specialized in vintage vending machines is therefore recommended.
This type of Coca-Cola vending machines produced by Cavalier Corporation is today highly sought after by collectors, enthusiasts of American automobilia, retro-themed venues, showrooms, and industrial/vintage interiors.
