Rare 1998 Scuderia Ferrari polo shirt reserved for drivers and top management, used at the Hockenheimring Grand Prix, with Tommy Hilfiger branding and Marlboro logos, in good condition for its age aside from a defect on the chest Ferrari logo.
Description from the seller
Particularly rare is the Scuderia Ferrari polo reserved for drivers and “top management” for the 1998 season, in the version used at the Hockenheimring Grand Prix in Germany.
Excellent season for the Italian team with 6 victories for Michael Schumacher, 2nd in the drivers’ championship, and 8 podiums for his teammate Eddie Irvine.
Only a handful of employees (drivers, team managers) owned this polo with the Scuderia Ferrari emblem on the chest accompanied by the Marlboro logos as well as an exclusive Tommy Hilfiger logo. More often polo shirts with logos of the other sponsors (Shell and Magneti Marelli) were used (white and red in 1998), and the other employees had polo shirts similar to the polo offered after the Grand Prix.
Version specifically used at Hockenheim, one of the three races where tobacco advertising was banned in 1998 with these red rectangles used for censorship. At Silverstone and Magny-Cours the red patches were tolerated.
Produced in excellent condition for its age.
Note, a defect on the Ferrari logo on the chest.
Taalia M. particularly large by today’s standards
