Barite rough, meteorite specimen from Baia Sprie, Maramureș, Romania, weighing 260 g with dimensions 9 cm high by 9 cm wide by 3 cm deep, featuring a 3D aggregate of tabular and lamellar crystals in a pale blue, grey-tinged, vitreous and translucent profile.
Description from the seller
• Magnificent and elegant three-dimensional aggregate of tabular and lamellar Barite crystals, arranged in a dense, geometric 'cock's comb' formation. The crystals showcase a splendid and ethereal pale azure-blue color with grayish tints, enriched by a vitreous luster and pronounced translucency along the edges of the laminae, giving the piece extraordinary brightness and a highly aesthetic sculptural silhouette.
• Origin: Baia Sprie mining area (historically also known as Felsőbánya), Maramureș District, Romania. This historic region located in the Eastern Carpathians is internationally renowned for its exceptional polymetallic hydrothermal deposits. Baia Sprie and nearby mines (such as Cavnic and Herja) have produced over centuries some of the most iconic and refined blue barite samples in European mineralogy. The particular geological conditions have allowed the development of complex, structured crystalline aggregates, making finds from this area true classics indispensable for high-level collections.
• Crystal therapy note: In crystal healing, Barite (especially in its blue variant) is considered a stone of high spiritual vibration, closely connected to the throat chakra and the third-eye chakra. It is used to promote clear communication, intuition, and expression of one's inner truth. It helps release old limiting thought patterns, overcome shyness, and calm the nervous system in situations of strong stress, while also stimulating a deep sense of peace and personal independence.
