Description from the seller
Magnificent pair of mid-20th-century wall sconces inspired by the Regency aesthetic reinterpreted through the refined glamour of Hollywood Regency. These luminaires stand out for their elegant gold-finished metal structure, conceived as a tiered crown in three levels that combines the French ornamental richness of the 18th century with the decorative sophistication typical of interiors from the mid-20th century.
Each sconce presents an architectural composition formed by successive pierced galleries of stylized fleur-de-lis motifs, creating a delicate geometric play that frames and enhances the cascade of carved crystal teardrops. The pendants, complete and preserved in their entirety, have been handcrafted and arranged in three descending tiers, generating an appealing succession of reflections, glints, and transparencies that multiply the light and provide an extraordinary sense of luxury.
The combination of the warm shine of the gold metal and the crystal clear purity of the faceted tears gives these pieces a sculptural presence even when turned off. When lit, the light refracts through each hanging element, producing a shimmering effect characteristic of the finest decorative creations linked to Regency taste with palace-inspired glamour.
With balanced proportions and great visual richness, this pair of sconces constitutes an excellent example of high-quality decorative lighting produced in the second half of the 20th century. Ideal for living rooms, reception areas, bedrooms, or formal spaces, they bring a note of classic elegance, French refinement, and cinematic glamour, integrating naturally into Hollywood Regency interiors, Neoclassical, Louis XVI, Late Art Deco, or luxurious-inspired eclectic styles.
Certificate of shipment and careful packaging.
