A 0.33 g gold nugget (pepita) from Lapland, Sotajoki, Finland, of meteoritic origin.
Description from the seller
The gold in this Lapland nugget already existed before the Sun.
It was forged more than 4.6 billion years ago in explosions and collisions of stars, long before the Sun and the Earth came to be. It traveled through space as stardust and became trapped in the mother rock of Lapland, nearly 2 billion years old. Afterward it spent millennia beneath Arctic ice, until the melt brought it to the rivers. Gold is not manufactured or printed: it is found. And there will be no more.
In 1868, an expedition found it in the Ivalo River and sparked Finland’s first gold rush. In 1945, with the war just over, men returning from the front climbed Lemmenjoki to try their luck with gold. Even today, every summer, dozens of prospectors wash it under the midnight sun; the rest of the year, snow and polar night cover everything. Lapland produces very little gold, and no two nuggets are alike: this one is unique.
Why do you need gold? Those men were coming from a war and went looking for gold. It’s no accident: in every war, many who had to flee with the clothes on their backs took gold, because it fits in a pocket and is valuable across any border. Wars return today, debt keeps growing, and talk of collapse abounds. The money in your account is a bank’s promise; gold is no one’s promise, and no government can print it.
To survive a crisis you don’t need a ingot, but something you can divide and trade. That’s why nuggets are the most practical form of owning gold: small, divisible, interchangeable and recognizable anywhere in the world. The time to have them is before you need them.
You’ll receive it in a small glass vial that protects it and lets you admire it without touching it. Shipping will occur as soon as possible after payment.
An piece of the Arctic older than the Sun, to protect what you have. There is only one: bid for it.
