Detailed Description:
An authentic, 100% original US Half Sheet movie poster from the 1948 theatrical re-release of Alfred Hitchcock’s cinematic masterpiece, Rebecca. This is a genuine piece of cinema history, featuring the beautiful National Screen Service stock number 48/1501 printed in the bottom corner.
This poster is completely untouched and unrestored. It has not been linen-backed or repaired, meaning it comes with all its genuine vintage flaws, making it a perfect candidate for a professional restoration or to be kept as-is by lovers of rustic, authentic cinema artifacts.
Condition Report (Please read carefully):
• Moisture & Stains: The poster has suffered from historical moisture exposure. There are visible water stains, damp marks, and foxing (brown spots) heavily concentrated along the outer cream borders and margins (especially on the right side and bottom edges).
• Main Artwork: Fortunately, the central graphic featuring the faces of Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine has been mostly spared and still displays very strong, vibrant colors.
• Edges & Reverse: The edges show minor tears, soft creases, and handling wear. The back of the poster shows heavy foxing, moisture staining, and remnants of old tape/glue from past display, but this does not bleed through to the front faces.
Please examine the high-resolution close-up photos carefully to appreciate the exact condition and water marks before bidding. Sold strictly as-is.
