Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Original Netherlands-delivered Mitsubishi Celeste 1600 ST from 1981
• Rare classic Japanese sport coupé with rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission
• Finished in Silver Metallic while preserving the distinctive fastback silhouette and original details
• Valid Dutch APK (MOT) until 2027
HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
The Mitsubishi Celeste, introduced in the latter part of the 1970s and built on the platform of the popular Mitsubishi Lancer, was designed as a light, sporty liftback coupé. The model combines a dynamic design with proven technology, including a four-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive, and a low curb weight. This particular example is an original Netherlands-delivered 1981 1600 ST. Today, the Celeste is a rare sight on European roads and among the offerings of Japanese classics.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
The bodywork is in good condition with well-maintained panel gaps and preservation of the original fastback styling. The car is finished in the factory color Silver Metallic, which presents well with light signs of use consistent with the car’s age.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in neat and well-kept condition, preserving the original look from the early 1980s. The dashboard, instruments, and upholstery form a complete and original whole with clear, easy-to-use controls.
ENGINE AND TECHNICAL:
Under the hood lies the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 73 hp, paired with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The engine runs smoothly and the brakes, steering, and drivetrain function as intended.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle has a Dutch license plate and holds a valid Dutch APK certificate through 2027.
It is recommended to inspect the vehicle before placing a bid to avoid disappointment. To make an appointment, please contact Catawiki. Bids exclude transport and export, unless otherwise stated. Arranging transport, ownership transfer, and any export documents/COC costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
