Description from the seller
Born in 1977, Jone Hopper is a French artist.
Late in the 80s, he makes his “classes” in the street through an emerging movement at the time, graffiti. He tags his name on the street, on walls and on trains. Known for his characters and his aerosol signatures, he creates the collective TBS (The Brutal Style) with Skepa and a few other engaged graffiti artists. We know little about him because the artist remains faithful to the spirit of graffiti and desires to stay anonymous, considering that the artwork should be highlighted and not the person. Non-existent on social networks, absent from openings, a faceless artist, he remains a true mystery except for a few gallery owners in the confidence. He compares his painting to a hip-hop piece, drawing from Basquiat, Keith Haring, Picasso, Matisse, Andy Warhol or even Bacon, pulling from all painting movements, from Modern to Contemporary through Classical, he acts like a sampler... samples, cuts, assembles and thus creates new images.
- Mixed techniques: aerosol, pastel and acrylic on canvas
- With certificate of authenticity
