The Linn Mimik CD player, dating from around 1993–1998, is in good condition and has been tested and confirmed working.
Description from the seller
In the mid-1990s, Linn introduced the Mimik, a CD player that broke with the cold, clinical sound many digital players of that era were known for. As the maker of the legendary Sondek LP12 turntable, Linn knew better than anyone how important analogue fluidity and rhythm are. The Mimik was therefore developed with one clear goal: to make CDs sound with the same dynamics, musical calm, and flow as a top vinyl player.
The player is housed in Linn’s iconic black LK enclosure of solid powder-coated aluminium, which effectively damps vibrations and isolates internal components from external interference. Under the hood, the Scottish team from Glasgow chose proven, rugged mechanics in combination with an advanced Delta-Sigma digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) and an extremely stable internal master clock. This drastically minimizes jitter and ensures a wide, open stereo image with notably warm vocal reproduction and rock-solid bass lines. In addition to the analog stereo outputs, the Mimik features a BNC/coaxial digital output, allowing it to also function as high-end loop gear when paired with a modern external DAC.
The unit is supplied as a standalone CD player with power cord.
Condition:
Nice vintage condition with normal small signs of age on the black housing and front. Technically checked and tested; the tray opens and closes smoothly, CDs read quickly and the player plays tracks cleanly and without interference.
