Description from the seller
The Marantz PM-80mk2 (also written as PM-80 II or PM-80 mkII) is an iconic and highly loved integrated stereo hi-fi amplifier from the 90s (produced between 1993 and 1997). This model is particularly famous among audiophiles for its flexibility to switch between Class A and Class AB.
The mk2 solved a number of critical design points of the original PM-80. Where the first version still used a fault-sensitive hybrid STK control, the mk2 has a fully solid-state build (discrete transistors), which significantly benefited the reliability and sound.
The unit has been professionally serviced and this what has been done to the unit :
- Completely renewed the whole power Amplifier stage.
- Fully recapped the Power Amplifier stage.
- Replaced all power transistors.
- Replaced a handful of resistors and diodes.
- Completely renewed and recapped the power supply PCB module.
- Fully washed from old dirt.
Such a professional services cost time and money if you seeing for a nice serviced unit this could be your chance.
