Technics - SL-P277A '1-Bit MASH D/A Converter' CD player

Reliable vintage Technics CD player with high quality Philips laser unit. In near mint condition! The Technics SL-P277A is a reliable vintage CD player produced between 1990 and 1991. Within the hi-fi community, it is well-regarded for its warm, musical sound and the excellent build quality characteristic of the golden age of Japanese audio brands. Key Features • Durable Drive Mechanism: For this model, Technics utilized the legendary Philips CDM-4/19 transport, which features a magnetic swing-arm laser. Because this mechanism avoids the use of traditional plastic gears or belts for laser movement, it is exceptionally wear-resistant and offers fast track access. • MASH DAC: The player is equipped with the MASH 1-bit digital-to-analog conversion system (MN6474), developed by Technics. At the time, this technology significantly reduced distortion at low volume levels and contributes to the player’s signature, smooth sound. • Controls & Functionality: The front panel includes a headphone output with its own dedicated volume control, direct track selection, and features such as random/shuffle playback, repeat, and programming options.
