Description from the seller
Large Antique/Vintage French Copper Jam Pan - 38 cm (11L) - Brass Handles
An authentic, traditional French copper jam pan (bassine à confiture), crafted in France during the mid-to-late 20th century.
This robust, heavy-gauge solid copper pot is ideal for making traditional jams, preserves, or jellies, and doubles as a stunning rustic decorative piece for a farmhouse or country-style kitchen.
Copper is highly prized by chefs for its exceptional thermal conductivity, ensuring rapid and perfectly even heat distribution, which prevents sugar from scorching.
The classic flared sides are specifically designed to maximize evaporation, helping preserves thicken quickly while retaining the vibrant color and fresh flavor of the fruit.
This pot is in beautiful vintage condition, completely unlined (pure copper on the inside as required for traditional jam-making), showing a gorgeous natural patina and minor superficial wear consistent with age and gentle use. It features two sturdy solid cast brass handles securely fastened with heavy-duty copper rivets, ensuring excellent stability and safety when lifting.
