Three 0.75-litre bottles of Oddero Barolo DOCG 2021.
Description from the seller
Discover the 2021 Barolo DOCG from Oddero, one of the historic benchmarks of La Morra, in the heart of Piedmont. This exceptional red wine is crafted exclusively from Nebbiolo, the emblematic variety of Barolo, harvested from parcels located notably in La Morra, including Bricco Chiesa and Capalot.
The terroir of Barolo’s hills, with its privileged exposures and soils suited to Nebbiolo, grants the wine its depth, aromatic finesse, and aging potential. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks with an maceration of about twenty days, after which the wines from the different plots are aged separately for thirty months in large Slavonian and Austrian oak casks, followed by an additional six months of bottle aging.
In the glass, this Barolo 2021 presents an intense garnet color. The nose reveals aromas of red and black fruits, dried flowers, gentle spices, licorice, and lightly truffled notes. On the palate, the wine is dry, warm, and structured, supported by present but well-integrated tannins, a good level of acidity, and a long lingering finish.
It is a Barolo of character, both traditional and precise, which can be enjoyed after a short aeration or can be tucked away for several years in the cellar to express all its complexity. Its balance between fruit, spices, tannic structure, and freshness makes it a fine bottle for lovers of great Italian wines.
Barolo Oddero 2021 pairs perfectly with rich and flavorful dishes: grilled or braised red meats, stews, game, lamb, truffle risotto, as well as aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano.
Thanks to its structure, tannins, and acidity, this Barolo has excellent aging potential. It can be tasted today after aeration, but it will gain in complexity over the years in the cellar.
