Description from the seller
ANTIQUE WALL PENDULUM CLOCK – MECHANICAL REGULATOR WITH STRIKING MOVEMENT – LATE 19TH / EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Elegant wall pendulum clock of European provenance, presumably dating from the period between the end of the 19th century and the early decades of the 20th century (circa 1890-1930).
An interesting example of traditional clockmaking, characterized by a refined architectural timber structure in dark wood, enhanced by decorative columns, turned elements and intricately carved ornamental details.
MAIN FEATURES
The case presents an imposing rectangular structure, enriched by two lateral columns with decorated capitals and a molded top frame.
The front features a glazed panel that allows viewing of the pendulum and the internal mechanical components.
The circular white dial displays elegant black Roman numerals, a gilded metal rim, and finely pierced hands with ornamental motifs.
The movement is mechanical, hand-wound, with two distinct winding holes on the dial, presumably intended for the clock operation and the striking system.
Inside the case is the pendulum with a circular lens in gilded metal and a cylindrical metal element corresponding to the striking system.
At the bottom is visible a decorative scale for regulating the pendulum.
