Description from the seller
Vintage "Portico" Style Brass and Cloisonné Enamel Mantel Clock — China — Second Half 20th Century
A magnificent "Portico" style interior mantel (table) clock, beautifully combining classic European architectural form with the refinement of traditional Oriental craftsmanship.
The clock case is constructed from solid brass and richly adorned with intricate hand-crafted cloisonné enamel, featuring dominant turquoise, cobalt blue, and gold tones. The lower tier is elegantly decorated with an enameled heart-pattern band. The sides feature beveled glass viewing panels that reveal the inner mechanical movement. The top is crowned with an ornate enameled vase-shaped finial and turned brass spires.
The back plate of the movement is stamped with the authentic factory exporter mark "中国制造" (Made in China), confirming the genuine origin of the piece. Produced in the second half of the 20th century for the Western export market, this clock represents an exceptional example of high-quality Chinese artistic metalwork.
