AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful antique Victorian chaise longue / meridienne – professionally reupholstered

An exceptionally elegant and high-quality Victorian chaise longue (also called a méridienne) from the second half of the 19th century (approx. 1870-1890) is offered.

This piece embodies pure class and craftsmanship from the Victorian era and is an absolute eye-catcher in both a classic and a modern eclectic interior.

Features & Condition:
• Frame: The asymmetric, hand-carved frame is made of solid wood (likely mahogany or walnut) and features refined wood-carving panels along the backrest. The frame is in solid, sturdy condition.
• Legs: The authentic, turned wooden legs rest on the original brass/porcelain swivel castors, which are still fully functional.
• Upholstery: The chaise longue has been expertly and professionally reupholstered in the near past. We opted for a high-quality, luxurious velvet/fabric in a stylish blue-gray shade. The tufted back (button-back) has been restored with great attention to detail. The fabric is clean, free of stains or wear, and the springs/cushioning provide a firm and comfortable seating experience.

Dimensions:
• Length: 200 cm
• Depth: 70 cm
• Height (highest point of backrest): 93 cm
• Seat height: 40 cm

Delivery / Pickup:
Due to the size and delicacy of this item, pickup in Waalre (Netherlands) is preferred. Transport can be arranged by the buyer, of course in good consultation.
